History:
As a Joltik, Bartleby was literally a little bug in a big world. The young pokemon grew up in a large city a place known for its dazzling lights and nightlife. It was a perfect place for a mite with an appetite for electricity. He and his fellow Joltiks lived in a casino, within the walls, finding electrical outlets to live off of. It was a simple and wonderful life for many years.

That is until the family group grew too large, the amount of electricity they were taking was starting to become noticeable. The casino owners didn’t take kindly to having an infestation and soon enough the Joltiks were facing extermination. For Bartleby he knew it was either face being poisoned or leaving the safety of the casino. Not being fond of the idea of death he set out into the real open world.

It was lot to take in being so small when he first ventured out into the city. Getting anywhere took time and tons of effort. Bartleby quickly learned the art of attaching himself to pokemon or humans to hitch a ride. That was when he met a pokefanatic that had an extreme love for electric pokemon. Easy enough to say he was caught and joined the ‘collective’. While the woman enjoyed having a Joltik in her party she wanted a Galvantula more.

Thus began the rigorous and tedious process of training. Bartleby saw man battles in his early days; he lost many at first. Though slowly and surely he grew stronger and soon was able to stand his own. Until the day he finally evolved into a Galvantula. It was a proud day for his owner. After that the battles lessened and soon the woman started to train new finds. Life started to grow stagnant for the elespider.

For once he started to miss his old home in the casino. When Bartleby’s fanatic owner took her pokemon to a large city for a pageant that is when the Galvantula made his escape. He couldn’t stand being a kept pokemon anymore, not in a life like he was leading. Out in the city he took to living in the alleys, making a nest of webs to keep intruders out or to catch dinner.

When pet pokemon started to go missing an investigation took place to find the culprit and Bartleby was caught red handed. He had tried to escape capture and succeeded for many months until the police force cornered Bartleby with a team of Growlithes. Scared and desperate to escape Bartleby tried to fight his way out. Receiving a large cut on the right side of his face in the process before finally he couldn’t keep it up anymore and he fainted.

When Bartleby came to he was in a place he never saw before, it looked somewhat like the city he had been in but… different. When he tried to stand up it was awkward, why were his front legs shorter than his back ones. When he looked down he noticed that he had arms and skin and legs that ended with actual feet and toes. He was human?

Personality:
Due to Bartleby’s past he has a hard time completely trusting others. He often feels like there is a catch and nothing comes free. Since is so mistrusting he is stand offish and crass. He isn’t highly educated and often has trouble understanding written words. It is also easy to say he can’t really write either. At most he can spell his name and that is with practice.

With his new aspects in life he had taken to being a thorn in peoples’ sides and is an active ruffian. Causing mischief and trouble is his new lease on life. The things that he knew as a pokemon he has taken with him. He is hard to catch and loves scaling tall objects. Bartleby is a natural at parkour to say the least.

Extra:
- Bartleby loves his jacket, no matter what else he is wearing or the weather his jacket is either on or tied to him in some matter.
- The scar on his face is a result of the last battle in his past life.
- He has long fang-like canine teeth that poke outside his mouth; the one on the left side has been knocked out.
- His favorite food is roasted fowl-like Pokemon.
- When Bartleby found out about piercing he went a little crazy but has yet to regret a single one.
- Just looking at him it easy to tell that his fair haired and very pale, so he doesn’t do too well in brightly lit places or hot weather.
- Bartleby’s tongue his dark purple while the inside of his mouth is a slightly lighter shade.
- He stands at about 5'9".
